EU Geotechnical Modelling Workshop - June 1-3, 2009
This week our engineers and partners were in Haarlem, The Netherlands for a
European Geotechnical Modelling Workshop.
This was our first time holding this annual workshop outside of the UK.
Lima, Peru - April 27-29, 2009
This month we had the distinct pleasure of traveling to Lima
and meeting nearly fifty engineers from Peru, Chile, Costa Rica and
Mexico at our first workshop in South America.
The workshop in Lima was offered in partnership with Knight Piésold
Consultores S.A.
New Release: GeoStudio 2007 v7.14 - April 20, 2009
Version 7.14 was released today, adding some enticing new features:
- vertical variance in SLOPE/W material properties;
- a new convergence scheme in SEEP/W and VADOSE/W based on gauss point conductivity;
- a new Ko material property in SIGMA/W and QUAKE/W to better model situations where the horizontal
stress is higher than the vertical stress;
- water ponding in all finite-element products (a much-requested feature after
it was added to SLOPE/W in version 7.10);
- and a number of bug fixes.
We recommend everyone upgrade to this release.

Version 7.13 adds several new features, improves on the new spatial function feature,
and fixes a number of bugs. We recommend everyone upgrade to this release.

Banff Geotechnical Modeling Workshop - September 15-18, 2008
This week we had the pleasure of hosting nearly 60
engineers from around the world for our
annual workshop.
About half of the participants took us up on our offer of a more
informal and in-depth fourth day, when we looked at some advanced
topics and were able to have more one-on-one time. From our
perspective the workshop was a great success and we look forward
to meeting many of you next year. Watch our web site for further
details.
New Release: GeoStudio 2007 v7.12 - July 7, 2008
Version 7.12 has been released to fix two small but important bugs affecting certain groups
of people. If these bugs do not affect you, it is not necessary to upgrade at this time.
The two bugs are described in

KB723.

Searchable Examples Online - June 9, 2008
It just got easier to find a sample GeoStudio 2007 file demonstrating whatever feature
you want to learn about. Nearly 150 example files along with accompanying whitepapers
are now individually downloadable and
fully searchable online.
