Summary

Some operations, in particular making changes to licensing options, require administrative rights.  However, by default GeoStudio 2007 runs on Windows 7 and Windows Vista as a regular, non-privileged user.

This article describes several ways to run GeoStudio 2007 as an administrator on Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

Description

Option 1:  Press and hold Ctrl-Shift while clicking on the GeoStudio 2007 shortcut under the Start - Program Files menu.

Option 2:  Right-click on the GeoStudio 2007 shortcut and choose Properties.  On the Compatibility tab, check the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox.  Click OK, then left-click the shortcut.

Option 3:  Find the GeoStudio 2007 executable (normally under C:\Program Files\GEO-SLOPE\GeoStudio2007\bin\geostudio.exe), right-click it, and choose Run As Administrator.
