Knowledge Base Searching
The Knowledge Base contains hundreds of articles about known bugs in GEO-SLOPE
software, tips to use the software more efficiently, help with installation and
licensing issues.
Between keyword searching and the Advanced Search page you can search as broadly or
as focused as you want.
Searching for words
The most obvious search is for individual words, such as "print". Note that we
don't assume the search word is a full word, so "print" will match "printer",
"printing" and "prints" as well. If you list multiple words the search will return
documents that contain
all those words (a logical AND).
Look at the
keywords section at the bottom of each
article to see special keywords to help you increase the accuracy of your search. For
example,
kb123 will return the article KB123;
kbcase will return only
Case Studies;
winxp will return articles that apply to Windows XP;
seepw
will return articles that apply to SEEP/W;
seepw6 will return articles that apply
to SEEP/W version 6.x; and so on.
Searching for phrases
In some cases you want to find articles that contain a particular phrase. For example,
if you search for:
printer name
you'll find articles that contain the words "printer" and "name," even if those
words are nowhere near each other in the article. If you really want to find articles
that contain the
phrase "printer name," put it in quotes, like this:
"printer name"
Advanced Search
The
Advanced Search page lets you focus your search even more. You can choose
to search only those articles that apply to certain products, articles that have been
updated in the last 30 days, or only articles in certain categories.
