Banff Geotechnical Modeling Workshop

Credit: Donald Lee Nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains is a charming little mountain village called Banff. Just a 90 minute scenic drive or commuter shuttle from Calgary International Airport, the Banff Conference Centre is a perfect setting to learn, enhance and fine-tune your numerical modeling skills under the personal guidance of GEO-SLOPE personnel.

The annual workshop has become a very popular event and has sold out well in advance of the workshop dates for the past four years. Many clients have returned to the workshop year after year to continually enhance their modeling skills and to experiment with new types of analyses.

This year we are expanding the workshop to include an optional 4th day (September 18th). The format of this day will be flexible and will allow participants to choose from a series of concurrent specialized sessions on various topics. Space is limited, so register soon!

Format and Outline:
The 3 day workshop on Sept. 15, 16 and 17 will consist of focused sessions on SLOPE/W, SEEP/W and SIGMA/W.

On the 4th day (September 18th), specialized sessions will be offered for some of the other GeoStudio programs and to discuss advanced features such as developing and using Add-In functions. The 4th day can also be used as an extra help day for those having limited modeling experience with the GeoStudio software who would like additional help and support.

  • Increase your understanding of geotechnical theory and fundamentals.
  • Collaborate with highly experienced GEO-SLOPE engineers and engineering professionals from around the world.
  • Receive continuing education credits towards professional development.
Whether you wish to fine-tune your numerical modeling skills, or be eased into the world of numerical modeling using GeoStudio 2007, this workshop is designed for you.
