GEO-SLOPE Training

GEO-SLOPE provides on-site training workshops for individual organizations and also invites clients to travel to our head office in Calgary, Canada for private in-house training. We also participate in general workshops facilitated by local geotechnical associations.

Our strength as a company and as engineers with years of experience is in passing along numerical modeling knowledge; identifying how the theory has been implemented in the software and helping people learn what is important to include and what is important to neglect when developing a model. All training programs are led by geotechnical engineers with many years of consulting, teaching and modeling experience.

We have found our training programs not only help novice users learn a new product, but provide valuable modeling guidelines that greatly enhance the performance of seasoned professionals.

Workshops

Two workshops take place annually, one in Alberta, Canada (generally in Banff or Calgary), and another in Europe. These workshops follow a similar format, teaching general numerical modeling skills as well as hands-on experience with GEO-SLOPE software. Whether you wish to fine-tine your numerical modeling skills or be eased into the world of numerical modeling using GEO-SLOPE products, these workshops are designed for you.

Online Training

A series of free training videos that replicate our onsite workshops are available from our self-hosted workshop page. These resources will allow you to self-host your own geotechnical modeling workshop, either for a group of engineers, or simply for your individual training needs.

On-Site Training

Our training programs go beyond simply learning what buttons to push. Modeling is more about trying to understand the processes involved than it is in predicting results. The long-term effectiveness of our training courses is ensured by teaching engineering principles and how to apply engineering knowledge to the modeling process.

All of our training programs are custom designed for each organization, incorporating examples and projects that are directly applicable to a specific line of work.
